Happy Independence Day! The weather is returning to normal early summer conditions. The upper-level high-pressure system, which brought the very hot temperatures to the West, is weakening and shifting back toward Texas, where it usually sits this time of year. The trough of low-pressure that brought the drier, cooler weather to Texas is withdrawing to the north. Winds are returning from the south and southeast 5 to 10 mph bringing back the humidity. There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms each afternoon through the weekend and into next week. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s. Lows will return to the low 70s this weekend.
