High pressure aloft is still in control of our weather and driving temperatures higher each day. Highs will reach the upper 90s by Friday. No rain is expected before Sunday when a cold front will drift across the Red River and slowly make its way into East Texas. There will be a 20 percent chance of showers and a few thunderstorms near the front Sunday and Monday. Winds will be from the south to southwest 5 to 15 mph.
