To the Religion Editor,

50 years ago this summer, Pine Springs Baptist Church of Tyler invited my wife and me — right out of Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth — to plant our lives there as their pastor and wife. We served there 4 1/2 years.

It was an honor then to so serve there then (1964 to 1969), and it is an honor to now be invited back — 50 years later — as their guest preacher and wife this Sunday. It is the church’s annual Homecoming Sunday morning service.

Joan and I want to let the “old-timers” who remember us know that they are invited. We would be delighted to renew friendships after these many years.

Our current work is that of hosting talk radio in St. Louis.

Many of our radio stories can be accessed at our website —www.harold hendrick.com — which contains scores of inspirational stories, available there for anytime listening.

(The site is a team effort as my bride of nearly 53 years, Joan Hendrick, does all the postings on the site!)

Sincerely,

Harold Hendrick
