Refuge of Light, a nonprofit that raises awareness about children trapped in the sex trafficking industry, will display art pieces in Salon Verve until July 20.

“The themes of the art pieces are freedom, restoration, light from darkness, redemption, love, joy, gentleness, faithfulness, innocence, peace, awakening, beauty, prayer, power of Christ, forgiveness, salvation, rescue, brokenness to brilliance, stained glass, justice, trees, scripture, Isaiah 4:6, shelter, refuge, hiding place and/or Refuge of Light,” according to the written release.

People can buy the pieces from now until 9 p.m. July 20.

All proceeds from the event will go toward education and awareness of child sex trafficking and the construction of a Refuge of Light safe home in East Texas for young girls rescued from a life of child sex trafficking.

A “meet the artist” event will be 7 to 9 p.m. July 20. Each artist will have an opportunity to introduce their work and tell about themselves. There will be music and time for Refuge of Light to talk about its mission and help bring awareness to the community.

The group meets the second Sunday of every month at 5 p.m. The next meeting is July 14. Holly Brook Baptist Church is at 3219 S. Farm-to-Market Road 2869 in Hawkins.
