As a resident of District 4 here in Tyler, I feel strongly that the man to represent us on the Tyler City Council is Don Warren.
As a native Tylerite, Don shares a true love for our district as well as all of Tyler.
His integrity, business skills and a desire to give back to a community that he loves so dearly has led Don to take an active role in the preservation and improvement of our city.
This man truly has a passion to see our community stay on a path of continuing growth and prosperity and without question he will do what it takes to achieve it. As a family man and a true friend to the community, his goal is to make sure that Tyler continues to be a safe place to live, work and raise a family.
Don is the owner and manager of Lomoco Inc. Oil and Gas Management, a member of the city of Tyler planning and Zoning Commission, Chairman of the Bergfeld Park Improvement Project, co-chairman of the Downtown Tyler Art Center Task Force and a board member and volunteer of Gateway to Hope.
As a kind and generous couple, Don and his wife Chelli continue to contribute to our community in other ways as well, showing support for numerous community and charitable organizations throughout the year.
Don’s belief in limited government, the pay-as-you-go businesslike approach to city government and the importance of public/private partnership to achieve great things for Tyler is exactly what we need as a community.
Join me in voting for Don Warren for District 4 City Council.
Much has been made of Eleno Licea’s heritage in the race for Tyler City Council District 4. But pegging him as “just a Hispanic” running for office misses the fact that he is incredibly qualified with a long history of community involvement.
Eleno has a dedication to and love of the Tyler community that he shares with residents of all races.
He wants the same things for his family that we do — like clean parks, good roads, safe neighborhoods, and affordable housing for his aging mother.
He has already served this community on the TISD school board because of his belief that education is the best way for someone to achieve his or her dreams. Now, he wants to serve on the Tyler City Council to ensure the city he loves handles growth responsibly and makes choices that consider the needs of all its citizens.
Those of us who have worked with Eleno come from many different backgrounds.
We see him as a proven candidate of vision and purpose whom we have seen work with others on boards and commissions to achieve common goals. Eleno has a great work ethic and passion for our community.
I hope your readers will join me in supporting Eleno Licea for Tyler City Council District 4 during early voting on Monday and Tuesday.
THE RIGHT CHOICE
I have known Don Warren for over 20 years. His compassion for his family, friends, and community show his strong commitment and readiness to take on any projects. As a former District 4 Councilmember (2004-2010), I have had the privilege of working with Don on various projects throughout our community over the years, including the Bergfeld Park Renovation Project, which has been remarkably successful to date under Don’s leadership.
His dedication, no matter what the task, is second to none. Don’s ability to make tough decisions to resolve problems is just one of his many assets.
Don has the skill set to represent the citizens of District 4 to the highest level. His small business background and involvement with many nonprofit organizations is more proof of his dedication for our great city.
These are just a few of the reasons I believe he is the best candidate.
