It did not take 239 pounds to win the Cabela’s King Kat catfish tournament on Lake Tawakoni like it did in 2013.

This year 217 pounds was enough.

The tournament, held March 1, attracted 49 teams including fishermen from Texas and seven other states.

Justin Cook and Roger Gerloff of Missouri won the even with five blue catfish weighing 217.15. Tha would have been good for fourth in 2013.

While the overall weights were down, fishermen still weighed in seven catfish over 50 pound including two over 60 and one topping 70.
