After a wintry storm dropped an average of 3 to 4 inches of snow across the Texas Panhandle, the Amarillio Police Department said it responded to more than 60 wrecks on Friday, according to local station KFDA.

Most of the collissions were considered to be minor and no one involved reported any severe injuries.

The wintry precipitation is part of a larger storm system that is expected to intensify as it makes its way east.

Winter storm warnings are in effect for several Southeastern states.
