The Smith County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in two convenience store robberies.

Deputies responded on Dec. 1 to a robbery at the  AZ Food Mart in the 11300 block of U.S. Highway 69 North. The store clerk was robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing a black Gold's Gym pullover sweatshirt hoodie, according to the sheriff's office.

The suspect was wearing a dark-colored bandanna over his face, light-colored blue jeans and square-toed cowboy boots, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies believe the same suspect is responsible for the Dec. 3 robbery of the AB Country Store in the 18500 block of Farm-to-Market Road 14 near Red Springs.

The Sheriff's Office said the suspect displayed a black semi-automatic handgun in both robberies.

The suspect is described to be in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6 feet tall and of slender to medium build.

Surveillance camera footage shows the suspect driving a silver 1990s single cab Toyota Tacoma four-wheel-drive pickup that is equipped with running boards, mud flaps and a diamond pattern toolbox. The footage also shows a large white box in the back of the pickup.

Contact Detective Rathbun of the Smith County Sheriff's Office at 903-590-2686 with information regarding these offenses.
