The center is asking the public to come and learn about opioid drugs, ways to prevent misuse and how to reverse overdose by using Narcan.

The seminar focuses on opioid characteristics, identifying overdose risk factors, recognizing an overdose and responding to an overdose.

The event is free and open to the community and will last from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the UT Tyler University Center Theatre, 3900 University Blvd.
