A driver in a stolen vehicle led law enforcement on a high speed chase for about 90 miles, through three East Texas counties and into Louisiana.

The driver and his passenger evaded law enforcement eventually abandoning the vehicle about 11:30 p.m. on Westport Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The pursuit began after a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper made a traffic stop about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday near mile marker 559, between Jim Hogg Road and Lavender Road on Interstate 20.

The trooper discovered the vehicle, a maroon Volvo SUV, was stolen out of Cedar Park. The driver drove away from the trooper and began traveling east on Interstate 20.

The driver continued to evade, before abandoning the vehicle in Louisiana. The suspect and his passengers were not located.
