Smith GOP Women

The Smith County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 20 at Coyote Sam’s, 5424 Old Jacksonville Hwy. in Tyler. The featured speaker will be Triston Ferguson.

Smith County Republican Women is also holding a fundraiser benefitting Patriot Paws on Thursday, July 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Yamato’s in Tyler. All are welcome to attend.

Grassroots America

Grassroots America – We The People will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 21 at the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 10818 University Blvd. (Spur 248).

Local debate and oration champion Triston Ferguson will speak about his love of our nation’s founding and why preservation of the U.S. Constitution is important to our nation’s future. His topic will be “Finding Unity in Our Differences - Fighting to Preserve Our Rights Together.”

Ferguson is currently the state champion for the Sons of the American Revolution in oratorical speaking and is also nationally ranked in congressional debate. He is a graduate of John Tyler High School. A self-identified conservative, he has given public talks, speeches, and radio interviews across the state on empowering the younger generation and the importance of the Constitution. Ferguson will be attending Oral Roberts University on a merit and forensics scholarship and is seeking a degree in Political Science and a minor in Communications.
