A 38-year-old Lindale man was arrested on Monday night on charges of deadly conduct after he allegedly fired a pistol near his neighbor.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., the Smith County Deputies responded to a call in the 16100 block of County Road 431 near Lindale to investigate a dispute between two residents.

A resident told deputies he squealed the tires of his vehicle in the middle of the road and was approached by his neighbor Miguel Angel Gaona.

Gaona and his neighbor got into a verbal dispute over the squealing of the tires, according to the sheriff's office. The resident told deputies that Gaona pulled out a pistol and shot it off several times near his vehicle.

Gaona was booked into the Smith County Jail shortly after midnight, according to jail records. His bond has not been set, according to Smith County judicial records.
