A group of white supremacists is targeting Tyler colleges with its flyers.

Self-described “American Fascism” group Vanguard Texas, a branch of Vanguard America, has taken credit for hate speech posters found on campus at the University of Texas at Tyler and Tyler Junior College on Sunday.

The group took credit for the posters on Twitter at about 10 a.m. Sunday.

The group’s website contains a manifesto with its vision of a “White America.”

TJC Executive Director of Marketing, Media and Communications Kim Lessner said a contract employee found the posters taped to the windows of Wise Auditorium on Sunday evening and took them down.

Lessner said the incident was reported to campus police, who are reviewing security footage. Lessner said no other buildings or incidents were reported at TJC.

UT Tyler Director of Communications Beverley Golden said literature also had been found on their campus, and the college is looking into the matter. She said the posters were taken down because they violated the university’s solicitation guidelines.

It is unclear if the perpetrators could face criminal charges at this time.
