A 54-year-old woman, identified as Lilia Amparo Lecroy, of Winona, was killed Friday night in a three-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 271 at the Loop 323 extension.

Several people were also reported to be injured.

One of the vehicles was a tractor trailer that was northbound on Highway 271, according to a news release from the Tyler Police Department. A Nissan Exterra southbound on Highway 271 failed to yield the right of way to the tractor trailer as the Exterra attempted to turn left onto the Loop Extension.

The tractor trailer struck the Exterra on the passenger side. The tractor trailer then pushed the Exterra into another vehicle that was attempting to merge with northbound traffic on Highway 271. Lecroy, a passenger in the Exterra, was declared deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Mitch Shamburger.
