A juvenile accused of touching several women inappropriately in the Brick Street District has been taken into custody and processed into the Smith County Juvenile Attention Center.

Throughout January, the Tyler Police Department has responded to several resident complaints about a 12-year-old boy in the area accused of inappropriately touching and making lewd comments to women on College Avenue and Lindsey Lane.

One such complaint occurred Monday when police received a report from a victim who said she was groped by a young boy in the 500 block of Lindsey Lane.

The woman reported the suspect approached her while she was working in the yard and began talking to her. As she was about to leave the residence, she said the suspect hugged and touched her inappropriately before running away.

In another report, a woman said she was walking down College Avenue and pushing a child in a stroller when the suspect touched her backside.

Detectives working the case identified the suspect as a 12-year-old juvenile. The boy was taken into custody on a charge of public lewdness.
