Tyler Museum of Art’s annual “Cars Are Art” car show will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the museum, 1300 S. Mahon Ave.
The competition has eight categories: Pre-1940s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and post-2000, said information from the museum.
Cars are judged on presentation and aesthetics, not originality or modifications. Art professionals serve as the judges.
Entry proceeds benefit the museum.
Downtown Tyler Film Festival set for Sept. 24-25; tickets $5
Tickets to the Downtown Tyler Film Festival set for Sept. 24-27 are on sale on the website tylerfilmfest.com, festival organizers announced.
The daily pass for screenings Sept. 24 through 26 costs $5, Tickets to “Best of the Fest” on Sept. 27, which includes food and drinks at a post-party, is $15. An all-access pass is available for $25.
Entries are no longer than 15 minutes and represent several genres. Some films may include mature content. Parents are urged to use discretion and refer to the festival program guide for content.
