Cherokee County Republican club set to meet on Tuesday

The Cherokee County Republican Club is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hong Kong Buffet, 1644 S. Jackson St. in Jacksonville.

Terri Hall, founder of Texans Uniting for Freedom, will be the guest speaker. She plans to talk about state transportation issues.

Hideaway Grassroots America will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Lodge at Hideaway.

The guest speaker will be Dwayne Stovall, former candidate for U.S. Senate and Founder/Director of “Keep Texas Free.” Stovall will discuss: “Federalism vs. Nationalism” followed by a question and answer session.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Any nonresident must be cleared through security by a Hideaway resident at least 24 hours before the meeting.


Grassroots America — We the People will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 10818 University Blvd. in Tyler.

U.S. Army veteran and constitutional attorney Michael Connelly will be the guest speaker. Connelly is the executive director of the U.S. Justice Foundation, a published author, freelance writer and teacher. His topic “How Military Members and Veterans are Being Betrayed,” will touch on veterans being denied their constitutional rights.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees may bring lunch or purchase from a Subway caterer.
