Calvary Commission celebrates 37th anniversary with conference

Calvary Commission in Lindale will celebrate its 37th Anniversary with its Annual Breakthrough Prayer and Missions Conference that starts this week.

The conference, which is open to the public, runs Thursday through Monday at the World Commission Center, 15983 County Road 4140, in Lindale.

There will be three sessions daily from Thursday through Saturday at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The conference sessions will include missionary testimonies, designated prayer times, training and equipping for missions, and musical and dramatic productions, according to a news release.

Jody Fauss will lead a “Kids Konference” nightly with a military theme, “Soldiers In The Army Of The Lord.”

Conference highlights include special guest Dallas Holm, a Christian singer and songwriter, who will speak and sing during the Friday evening session.

The Saturday afternoon session will feature breakthrough prayer and missions reports. The 10 a.m. Sunday service will take place in Tyler at the Church of Living Hope, 3308 W. Gentry Parkway. Dr. Eduardo Gonzalez, the Cuban District Superintendent of the Havana Western District of the Assemblies of God of Cuba, will provide a pastoral and missionary message in a bilingual service.

The 6 p.m. Sunday service will include the graduation of the Calvary International Bible Institute and Theological Seminary students. Dr. Joe Fauss, Calvary Commission’s international director and president, will deliver the commencement address.

Other conference speakers include: Colin Hurt, a missionary to Malaysia; Pastor Willie Sendejo from the Christian Worship Church in Hidalgo; international missionary Glenn Clark of Roanoke, Virginia; Pastor Waldy Gonzalez of Asamblea de Dios in Havana, Cuba; Nathan Cole, missionary from Le￳n, Guanajuato, Mexico; and Dr. Tina Hill, Calvary International Bible Institute’s vice president of student affairs.

From 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, there will be a “Labor Day Bar-B-Q Blast” in Lindale for families. The cost is $5 per person or $15 per family. Activities include games, musical and drama presentations, a carnival, fishing tournament and more. Barbecue will be served at 4 p.m.
