To celebrate its one-year anniversary, Firehouse Subs is hosting a blood drive today.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Carter BloodCare bus will be at the restaurant, as well as local fire trucks, franchisee Rajen “Ray” Patel said.
They will also be giving away coupons and will have a ribbon cutting with the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, something they didn’t get around to when they opened a year ago today, Patel said.
Firehouse Subs is known for its steamed meats and cheeses, Patel has said.
The firefighter-inspired sandwich shop is based on the founding family's decades of fire and police service, and the local restaurant is decorated with memorabilia donated from the Tyler Fire Department, representatives have said.
Firehouse Subs, at 3304 Troup Highway, is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. For more, contact 903-787-7472 or www.firehouse
