VIDEO: McDonald's worker punched by customer

UPDATE FROM TYLER POLICE: The man who assaulted the McDonald's employee outside the business had already paid for the food he ordered.  This case is not considered a robbery and will be investigated as an assault.  Police have information on who was involved in this incident and will be following up on this case classified as an assault.


On June 23, 2014 at approximately 11:56 P.M. officers with the Tyler Police Department responded to 180 Loop 323 S SW, McDonald's restaurant, in reference to a robbery of an individual. Upon arrival officers were told a black male subject had robbed one of the employees.

The suspect was waiting outside the business when one of the employees exited to deliver food to a waiting customer. The suspect approached the employee, punched her and took the food out of her hands. He then ran from the store north bound. He was described as a thin black male wearing a white tee shirt and orange ball cap. He was approximately 5'7 to 5'9 and 140 to 150 pounds. Officers searched the area but the suspect was not found. The case is still under investigation.
