A 4-year-old girl died, and another toddler was found unresponsive in a car Wednesday afternoon near Flint after a concerned resident called 911.
The 911 caller reported to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office about 3 p.m. Wednesday that two unresponsive toddlers were inside a vehicle in the 18000 block of County Road 1100 near Flint, according to John Moore, public information officer.
When emergency medical service personnel arrived on the scene, they found two girls, ages 3 and 4, Moore said.
The 4-year-old was transported to a local hospital, where she died, and the 3-year old was treated at the scene and released.
As of about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Moore said, “The details of the case are still not clear, so there is no additional information available.”
“The Smith County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is investigating. Information will be released as the investigation progresses and details become available,” Moore said.
