Spanish for nurses course to begin today

A Conversational Spanish Class for nurses is set to begin today, the city of Tyler announced.

The class is described as “an introductory course into real-life situations faced by medical personnel each day.” It includes lecture, class participation, homework, handouts and more. 

Classes take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for six weeks at the Glass Recreation Center. 

Iris Avila, who has a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Texas at Tyler, will serve as instructor and has instructed a beginner Spanish class for the Glass Recreation Center for the past two years.  

The cost is $120 for the six-week course.
