One dead another injured in high speed chase, drugs likely a factor

SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - One male driver is dead and his passenger was injured after a high speed chase on FM 345 north of Teaselville. People who know the victim said, the driver and the passenger had been high on drugs with and possibly had additional drugs inside the car. As law enforcement tried to stop the duo, they drove off leading troopers on a chase before ultimately wrecking the car. The driver is said to have died on scene, the passenger was taken to an east Texas hospital and is being treated for multiple injuries.
