A jury is being selected this afternoon in the February 2013 Broadway Square Mall shooting that left one dead.
Assistant Court Coordinator Terry Cockrum said a jury was being picked for Ricky Neal Jr. today. It is believed evidence could begin being presented late this afternoon with opening arguments.
Neal is accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old Chris Mass at the mall on Feb. 9, 2013. A tweet that police said Neal sent to another man's girlfriend sparked an altercation that preceded the shooting.
Neal is charged with first-degree felony murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
