The Junior League of Tyler Inc. will host its 2014 Spring Crawfish Boil from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 18 at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club.
All ages will enjoy catered crawfish, music and an assortment of fun activities.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12, with children ages 5 and younger getting free admission.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.juniorleagueoftyler.org and at the Junior League of Tyler office located at 1919 South Donnybrook.
The Spring Crawfish boil is the first event of the year in conjunction with Mistletoe & Magic 2014 “Holiday in the Highlands.”
Jennifer Neal, Mistletoe and Magic 2014 chairwoman, said she is looking forward to a southern version of a Scottish spring fling to keep in line with this year’s Mistletoe and Magic theme.
“Krawfish and Kilts will be a great afternoon of food and fun,” Ms. Neal said. “The new location at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club will be a beautiful backdrop to a great event that will continue to fund the future for our area non-profit agencies.
“You couldn’t ask for a more relaxed and family friendly avenue to do good for our community. The public is welcome and we can’t wait to see everyone there.”
Proceeds from the event help fund the Junior League of Tyler Inc., which invested more than $250,000 and 20,000 volunteer hours into nonprofit agencies and community programs last year.
The Junior League of Tyler Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
