A Tyler Junior College professor will speak about the modern mind during the final Spring 2014 Public Astronomy Lecture Series.
TJC Honors Program Director T.J. McLemore, who also is an English professor, is scheduled to present the lecture, “A Conversation Out of School: The Debate Over C.P. Snow’s Two Cultures and the Molding of the Modern Mind.”
The lecture is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at TJC’s Center for Earth & Space Science Education, 1411 E. Lake St. Admission costs $5, or is free with a valid TJC ID.
After earning a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, McLemore spent four years living on community farms, touring with an indie rock band, and working as a ghostwriter and freelance editor, according to a TJC news release.
He also earned a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing (poetry) from Boston University and is working to complete his first book of poems, according to the news release.
The University of South Carolina Press is slated to publish his book about the poetry of Louise Glück.
