TxDOT to repair, work on East Texas roads this week

The Texas Department of Transportation will be repairing roads in eight East Texas counties this week.

Daytime lane closures will be in effect in each location while the work is in progress, and flaggers will control traffic in two-lane areas. Motorists are encouraged to be prepared to reduce speed and merge around the work zones.

TYLER

Maintenance crews will continue base and pavement repairs on east Loop 323 between the Loop 323 extension and Commerce Street.

Meanwhile, construction crews resumed paving work on Farm-to-Market Road 14 between North Loop 323 in Tyler and Interstate 20. Motorists should expect long delays in this area.

GREGG COUNTY

Shoulder work will be done on recently resurfaced areas on Farm-to-Market Road 349 near Lakeport, Farm-to-Market Road 2605 between Longview and White Oak, and Farm-to-Market Road 2087 between South Loop 281 in Longview and Interstate 20.

WOOD COUNTY

Edge and pavement repairs will continue on U.S. Highway 80 between Mineola and Farm-to-Market Road 778 in Crow.

VAN ZANDT COUNTY

Base and pavement repairs will continue on Farm-to-Market Road 1504 between U.S. Highway 80 in Edgewood and Texas Highway 64 in Myrtle Springs.

CHEROKEE COUNTY

Crews will make base and pavement repairs in the curb-and-gutter section of U.S. Highway 79 west of Jacksonville, followed mid-week by the same operations in various locations on U.S. Highway 69 between Jacksonville and Rusk.

ANDERSON COUNTY

Base and pavement repairs will resume on U.S. Highway 287 between Elkhart and the Houston County line.

A second crew will clean and repair ditches in various locations on Farm-to-Market Road 321 between Texas Highway 155 in Mound Prairie and Farm-to-Market Road 2574 in Neches.

Construction crews on the U.S. Highway 79 project between Palestine and the Trinity River are scheduled to shift traffic on the project, which has 55 and 45 mph speed limits.

HENDERSON COUNTY

Resurfacing operations will continue on U.S. Highway 175 between Farm-to-Market Road 804 east of Athens and Farm-to-Market Road 315 in Poynor.

Crew also will resurface Farm-to-Market Road 59 in Athens between Texas Highway 19 and Loop 7.

RUSK COUNTY

Today, crews will replace a culvert at the intersection of Texas Highway 323 and County Road 204, which is between Texas Highway 64 in Henderson and Farm-to-Market Road 2276.

Once that work is complete, crews will resume base and pavement repairs on Farm-to-Market Road 95 between Texas 315 and U.S. Highway 84 east of Mount Enterprise.
