The Tyler Economic Development Council is hosting its 25th annual Investors & Contributors Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday.
Senior research economist and adviser for the Dallas Federal Reserve, Jason Saving, will be the guest speaker. He researches public policy issues.
Saving joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in 1996, following a one-year post-doctoral fellowship at George Mason University’s Center for Study of Public Choice. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematical economic analysis from Rice University and an MA and PhD in economics from the California Institute of Technology.
Saving is the author of articles on European economic integration, American welfare policy, Social Security, and other policy issues. His works have appeared in journals such as Economic Inquiry, Southern Economic Journal, Public Choice, and Southwest Economy. He is a member of the American Economic Association and the Public Choice Society.
During the luncheon, Tyler Economic Development Council officials also will give an overview of 2013 economic trends, an update on several projects in the Tyler/Smith County area and will recognize outgoing directors.
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Green Acres Baptist Church, Crosswalk Conference Center, at 1607 Troup Highway.
Stephanye Petree, administrative assistant of the council, said they expect 200 to 225 people to attend the event and tickets can be purchases for $20 online, at www.eventbrite.com , or at the door the day of the event.
