The Bullard Education Foundation is switching it up this year at its fourth annual Strides for Excellence 5K.

The race will be held April 19 at 9 a.m. at 1426 S. Houston St., according to a news release.

The traditional race will be a color run for the first time this year and feature five stations where colored powder will be thrown on runners on their trek to the finish line, where there will be a “color party.”

The annual race benefits the education foundation’s mission of granting classroom scholarships for innovative programs at Bullard ISD, according to a news release. The 5K is the principal fundraiser for the foundation, which has given out more than $174,000 in grants and scholarships.

Online registration will be open through April 17, and anyone can register the morning of the race. Registration information can be found on the Bullard Education Foundation website, , under the events link.
