A man wanted on an aggravated robbery warrant fled from Tyler Police on foot this morning, and in the process, took off all of his clothes, according to police spokesman Donald Martin.
The man has still not been captured. He was last seen in the vicinity of 33rd Street in Tyler.
He is identified as 25-year-old Daniel Cobb, of Tyler.
Martin could not say when the robbery Cobb is wanted for occurred, only that there was an outstanding warrant for the crime.
Martin said a police investigator in an unmarked unit saw Cobb driving on 33rd Street and requested additional police presence to the area. But during the traffic stop, Cobb was able to elude police and for an unknown reason shed his clothes.
Martin said officers swarmed the area, but met a resident who said he saw Cobb jump into another vehicle and flee the scene.
“He was able to get out of the area pretty quickly,” he said.
According to Smith County records, Cobb has been arrested in the past on charges of burglary of a habitation. evading detention, assault causing bodily injury/family violence, and theft of property.
Anyone with information on Cobb's whereabouts is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000 or the Tyler Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-2833.
