A $110,000 gift will support education in Tyler’s two Catholic schools.

The Tyler Catholic School Foundation presented its 2013 annual gift to student representatives from both schools.

St. Gregory Cathedral School received more than $54,000, and Bishop T.K. Gorman Regional Catholic School received more than $55,000.

The nonprofit foundation has received more than $4 million and contributed $2.7 million to the two schools, according to a news release.

Each year, contributions from 85 endowed scholarships and special endowments provide for student aid, teacher compensation, fine arts and facilities, among other things.

There also are 33 established scholarships and funds in development, according to the news release.

Ninety percent of contributions go toward tuition assistance for students in need who want a Catholic education.
