All Saints Episcopal School: Student-musicians earn accolades

Seven All Saints Episcopal School band students were recognized through competition at the Association of Texas Small School Bands All Region band auditions.

Two upper school students made the top band and qualified for area auditions in January.

They are junior Ian Finlay, 5th chair percussion Symphonic Band, and freshman Samuel Hsieh, 19th chair clarinet Symphonic Band (top freshman clarinet).

At the middle school level, five All Saints band students made the All Region bands.

They were eighth-grader Liza Naydanova, 10th chair flute, Concert Band; sixth-grader Emily Pearson, 2nd alternate flute (22nd overall); seventh-grader Shelby Babineau, 17th chair clarinet, Symphonic Band; eighth-grader Ruthann Schmiege, 11th chair trumpet, Symphonic Band; and seventh-grader Homer Holt, 4th chair trumpet, Symphonic Band.

These students are scheduled to perform with the All Region bands in concert on Jan. 18 at Chapel Hill High School.
