Tyler Junior College has postponed its production of the “The Taste of Sunrise,” which was scheduled for today.
The production, which will be rescheduled after the New Year, will feature spoken English and American Sign Language. It was postponed because of the expected inclement weather.
TJC’s theater department and the sign language interpreter training program will collaborate on the play, according to a college news release.
The presentation will involve theater students reading the play aloud while interpreter training students sign along with the story, according to the news release.
TJC theater professor Dr. David W. Crawford is the production’s director. Information about deaf awareness and sign language, as well as TJC’s interpreting and theater programs, will be available.
