Law enforcement is continuing to seek out information about a Tuesday robbery.

Cuney Police Chief Michael Trawick said the robbery occurred about 9 p.m. at Arun Rise Liquor on U.S. Highway 175, as store workers were exiting for the close of that day.

He said three males dressed in black came from the west side of store, and approached the workers in the parking lot.

One of the robbers produced a gun, put it up to a female employee’s face and demanded money, he said, and then another pushed a worker to the ground, resulting in minor injuries. Trawick estimated that about $200 was taken.

Trawick said the robbers then exited the parking lot and “went west back through the woods.”

“Apparently there was a car that was waiting on County Road 3509,” he said.

In the meantime, the incident was reported, and an officer, who was on U.S. Highway 175, just west of the city limit sign, came toward Cuney and observed the vehicle pulling back onto U.S. 175, Trawick said.

He said the officer checked on the vehicle, which pulled over maybe a couple hundred yards or so from County Road 3409.

He said three people exited the vehicle wearing all black, which matched their description.

Trawick said the three passengers fled into the woods, and law enforcement was unable to find them. However, he said, police were able to detain the vehicle and arrest the driver, identified as Bridjhuna Rashaye Thirkill, 27, of Jacksonville. She was charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

Trawick said police now are also looking for Fitzgerald Allen, who is described as a black male, approximately 28, 5-7, with brown hair and brown eyes.

“We’re wanting to question him. He may have some pertinent information,” he said.
