The Glass Recreation Center and Tyler Parks and Recreation will teach the basics of Spanish this fall in a special six-week course, according to a press release from the city.
Iris Avila, a college educator with a BA in Spanish, will instruct the class and lead students on a journey to enhance the development of grammar and vocabulary, using real life scenarios, according to the release.
“Having additional language skills can be really helpful both professionally and personally,” Glass Recreation Center Supervisor Ann Santana said in the press release. “We are pleased to be able to help our community members grow their knowledge of the Spanish language,” Ms. Santana said.
Classes begin Sept. 24 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Glass Recreation Center, 501 W. 32nd St. The cost is $50 per student, please pre-register by calling 903-595-7271.
