A Troup couple is in need of bedding after their house burned earlier this month.
The fire happened about 7:30 or 8 p.m. on Sept. 1 on the north side of County Road 2147, near Farm-to-Market Road 346, according to the Troup Fire Department. Troup, Arp and Whitehouse fire departments responded.
Resident Howard Matlock, 64, is retired and lived at the home with his wife, Carolyn.
He said the house was a total loss, and they weren’t able to save anything.
“Everything burnt up,” he said.
As of Thursday, he and his wife were staying with family members.
Matlock said he would eventually like to find an old trailer home to put on the property where his house once stood.
For now, he said his wife could use blankets or sheets. He said they already have received clothing donations.
Those who are interested in helping the couple can call Matlock at 903-570-4818.
