The 30-year-old man who drowned in Lake Palestine in Henderson County Tuesday evening has been identified as Kayvan H. Moayedi.
Mike Hanson, Rusk Texas Game Warden captain, said the drowning call came in around 6:30 p.m. at Sunrise Shores near Chandler.
People on shore saw a person struggling in the water and attempted to help, but Moayedi went underwater before emergency crews arrived.
Hanson said he was found about 11:30 p.m. between 100 and 150 yards from the Sunrise Shore boat ramp.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and county game wardens responded to the scene along with several volunteer fire departments, Hanson said.
Moayedi's body was sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
