First Baptist Church of Tyler’s “Faith of Our Presidents” summer Bible study series will be at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7, 14 and 21.

The presidents of three Baptist universities will lead those three nights.

“These three men will talk about their faith, not the faith of the presidents of our country,” said Billy Bob Dempsey, minister of worship.

On Aug. 7, Dr. Lanny Hall, president of Hardin Simmons University, will present his topic, “Give Me That Old Time Religion.” On Aug. 14, Dr. Gary Cook, president of Dallas Baptist University, will present “Faith for Today and the Unpromised Tomorrows.” On Aug. 21 Dr. Robert Sloan, president of Houston Baptist University, will present “Faith for the Journey Home: Preparing for Heaven.”

Admission is free and open to the community. Each session will in the main sanctuary of the downtown location of First Baptist, 301 W. Ferguson St.

“These three men are widely respected, not only in the Baptist world, but also for their gifts to education in general,” Dempsey said. “‘Faith of Our Presidents’ will be a unique opportunity for those in our community to meet these men.”
