An Anderson County man was arrested for burglary, sexual assault and possession of drugs Tuesday afternoon.
A concerned neighbor called the Palestine Police Department around 3:45 p.m. when they saw a man go into their neighbor’s garage in the 100 block of Edna St., according to news release from the department. The man was allegedly looking though items in the garage.
Andrew Deberry, 20, of Palestine was arrested for burglary of a habitation after he was identified as the man in the garage, the release states.
As he was taken into custody, officers reportedly found drugs on his person, and he was charged with possession of a dangerous drug as well as possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, because the home was next to Westwood High School, according to authorities.
Deberry also had an outstanding warrant for sexual assault in Houston County.
He was booked in the Anderson County Jail with bonds totaling $45,000 for the four charges, the release states.
