The Tyler ISD Foundation surpassed its fundraising goal substantially.
The foundation received an estimated $778,000 in contributions and planned gifts during its annual community campaign, far exceeding the $150,000 goal.
The foundation met the initial goal in April, but the campaign co-chairmen urged the community to continue giving toward a “stretch goal” of $250,000, according to a news release at the time.
Foundation executive director Larry Goddard said the organization met that goal and then some.
A large portion of the amount comes in the form of an estate gift that will provide annual funding to the foundation for a set number of years.
A formal announcement about the gifts and campaign success is expected later this year.
The foundation exists to raise funds and grant those funds to the school district, its teachers, staff and students for worthwhile projects and programs.
