Today marks the beginning of a new era in multimedia journalism in East Texas, said Nelson Clyde, Tyler Morning Telegraph publisher. We’re moving to a membership model in order for readers to gain access to our content.
“If you are a current subscriber you are already a member. To activate your membership, go to the top right-hand corner of our homepage at tylerpaper.com and create your member online account.”
Bill Campbell, director of marketing and digital technology, said, “Current print product subscribers should have already received a letter in the mail providing instructions to begin using their online membership. Subscribers who have not received this letter should feel free to contact customer service at 903-597-1121 or by email at email@example.com.”
Two membership levels will be available for print delivery. They will include a weekend membership -- with Friday, Saturday and Sunday delivery -- and a seven-day option. Each membership level includes 24/7 daily access to our website and replica edition, Clyde said.
Members will have the option to receive Tyler Paper’s printed product, as well as the e-edition, a digital replica of the paper, all of the content on the redesigned website, the mobile app and more. The enhanced content available to members will include 30 days of e-edition archives and video news segments produced by our staff and our news partner CBS19.
“We continue to have the largest newsgathering staff in the region, and our commitment to delivering the most trusted information in the market remains a top priority,” Publisher Clyde said. “Adding websites and digital platforms such as our mobile app, Facebook, video news and Twitter to our traditional news delivery has enabled us to reach readers across many platforms.”
Readers without a membership will still be able to access limited breaking news and information relevant to East Texas. “But we’re going to encourage them to become a member to gain access to our entire content,” Campbell said.
Viewers of the newly designed website will see blue circles with a white “T” next to most stories. The emblems will indicate which articles are for members only. Non-members will be able to see only a small portion of the story and photos.
“We now see a clearer path to a consumer-driven product, and we felt it was the time to move toward a model we see happening in many other newspapers across the country.” Clyde said.
Campbell said the Tyler Paper is expanding and enhancing its news community, growing its commitment to local readers.

If you have not received this letter or are experiencing other problems, please contact our office at 903-597-1121during regular business hours from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and 7:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday.
