JAMIE CLYDE,

Northeast Texas Health WIC clinics across East Texas have been awarded the gold level of the Loving Support award for excellence.

The award was given in recognition of the breastfeeding support services that are provided by all of the WIC clinics to worksites, hospitals and mothers and dads in the 21-county service area.

The WIC Peer Dad initiative, the Healthy Me Healthy Babies Coalition, the Texas Mother Friendly initiative and our Peer Counselor Coalition are some of the reasons why NET Health WIC clinics were one of only 7 agencies in the Southwestern U.S. to receive the gold level of recognition.

The award was given at last Monday’s recognition ceremony that was hosted in Dallas by the United States Department of Agriculture.
