Nacogdoches shooting leaves 2 men dead

NACOGDOCHES — Nacogdoches Police are investigating a double homicide that occurred early Monday in the Eastwood Terrace Apartments complex.

Police were called to the 3000 block of Santa Fe at 4:04 AM. Upon arrival, officers found two men on the ground outside of an apartment building. Both suffered gunshot wounds.

Deveston Denard Flemon, 32, of Nacogdoches, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Kerry Don Williamson.

William Richard Cole, III, 33, of Nacogdoches, was taken to a local hospital where he died shortly after arrival.

Detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Decobie Dywain Durden, 36, of Nacogdoches, charging him with capital murder. He was arrested about 8:30 a.m. by police officers in the 1300 block of Raguet Street in Nacogdoches. 

This case remains under investigation.
