Libertarian nominee for Texas governor Kathie Glass will visit Tyler on her tour bus at 1:30 p.m. today at Spring Creek Barbecue, 5810 S. Broadway Ave., as part of her “Texas 254 Tour.”

Mrs. Glass has vowed to visit all 254 Texas counties before Election Day, Nov. 4.

She will host a “Volunteer Workshop” today.

Her East Texas tour includes stops in Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Palestine and Athens.

Mrs. Glass has railed against the federal government and called for “nullification of unconstitutional federal acts as the only effective remedy.” She said cronyism in Texas plagues the state.

Cronyism and federal overreach are to blame for the problems along the Texas-Mexico border, she said. Mrs. Glass said Texas needs to enforce state law against trespass and other crimes along the border using Texas State Guard troops and craft immigration policy that includes a welcoming guest worker program.

“The Texas governor can secure the border, enforce the Constitution, and resist cronyism,” she said. “Only I will.”
