Tyler Police are looking for a man who tried to rob a fast food worker just after midnight today.

An employee of the Arby's restaurant on South Broadway Avenue told police she was leaving work and getting into her vehicle. After unlocking her vehicle, she got into the driver's seat and attempted to close the door. An unknown person grabbed the door and prevented her from closing it. He then sprayed her with mace and pulled her from the vehicle, after which he ran around her vehicle and got into the passenger side door and proceeded to rummage through her vehicle.

The woman ran to McDonalds next door, where an employee there called 911. The robber had fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival. The woman reported that nothing appears to have been stolen.

The man was wearing all black, with a ski mask that had a skull print on the front. No other description is available at this time. The woman was not physically injured, other than those commonly associated with getting sprayed by mace.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000 or Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF.
