4 businesses finishing spaces at retail center

Four businesses filed building permits for spaces at The Village at Cumberland Park.

Tyler Broadway/Centennial LP, of Dallas, is finishing a 4,000-square-foot space at 8950 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 104, for Massage Envy. Foxfield Construction Ltd., of Allen, is the contractor for the $350,000 project.

Kirklands, of Nashville, Tennessee, is finishing construction of an 8,000-square-foot space at 8970 S. Broadway, Suite 116. JMJ Builders, of Carrolton, Georgia, is the contractor for the $205,000 project.

Cato Corp., of Charlotte, North Carolina, is finishing a 6,687-square-foot space at 8942 S. Broadway Ave., No. 168, for Versona. Westwood Contractors Inc., of Fort Worth, is the contractor for the $200,000 project.

Maurices Inc., of Duluth, Minnesota, is finishing a 4,883-square-foot space at 8946 S. Broadway Ave., Suite 128, for Maurices. National retail & Commercial is the contractor for the $150,000 project.


Tyler Water Utilities is constructing a new 4,047-square-foot sludge press building at the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant, at 14939 County Road 46, for $2,999,000. Crossland Heavy Contractors, of Idabel, Oklahoma, is the contractor.

Work will include all of the necessary equipment for compressing sludge so it can be disposed of at a landfill or composting facility, Greg Morgan, managing director of utilities and public works for the city of Tyler, said earlier. The Sludge Dewatering Facility will take more than a year to construct.

The Tyler Public Library is remodeling its bathrooms and 1,500 square feet of its interior areas at 201 S. College Ave. for $535,000. TCMC is the contractor.


The Peoples Petroleum Building LLC is renovating 5,100 square feet of commercial office space on the 13th, 14th and 15th floors of the building at 102 N. College Ave. for $842,000. Garrett & Associates General Contractors, of Whitehouse, is the contractor.

Brookshire Grocery Co. is remodeling its 6,000-square-foot corporate offices at 1600 WSW Loop 323 for $350,000. Work includes demolishing walls and ceilings, a new wall layout and new furnishings. Watson Commercial Construction is the contractor.

Excel Car Wash Inc., of Nacogdoches, is building a new car wash at 5105 Troup Highway. Foxfield Construction Ltd., of Allen, is the contractor. No cost was given.

Kevin Nguyen is doing electrical, plumbing, sheetrock and painting work at the 5,300-square-foot future Paradise Day Spa, at 3415 S. Broadway Ave. Cazarez Construction is the contractor for the $49,500 project.

A commercial temporary power permit was filed by Republic Ice House at 3807 University Blvd.


Chelsea Creek Apartments filed four permits for 4920 Thistle Drive with Woodland Graphics as the contractor. The signs are for $3,500, $3,060, $8,900 and $6,750.

Southside Bank filed sign permits for 1305 S. Beckham Ave., 3815 Texas Highway 64 West and 6201 S. Broadway Ave. Leon’s Signs Inc. is the contractor.

Sign permits also were filed for Freebirds, 5105 S. Broadway, $1,000, Texas Sign Services Inc., of Terrell; Southeast Crossing (Burns Commercial Properties) 2310 ESE Loop 323, Design Center Signs Inc.; Trinity Mother Frances Phase III, 800 E. Dawson, Design Center Signs; and Barrett Appliances, 5625 S. Broadway, Design Center Signs.


Shiloh Village Partners LLC filed permits for three-unit multifamily residences for $90,000 each. They include two 1,894-square-foot units at 5058 and 5040 Shiloh Ridge Drive; two 1,889-square-foot units at 5046 and 5064 Shiloh Ridge; and two 1,896-square-foot units at 5052 and 5070 Shiloh Ridge. CBG Root Construction is the contractor.

Brad Thurman, of Dallas, is constructing a 4,298-square-foot home at 4552 Triggs Trace for $325,000; and a 4,428-square-foot home at 4535 Triggs Trace for $350,000. CR Thurman LLC, of Dallas, is the contractor.

C. Cooper Custom Homes is building three 3,093-square-foot homes at 7613, 7721 and 7727 Cherryhill Drive for $200,000 each; and a 3,093-square-foot house at 3850 Lamb Drive for $200,000.

Thomas and Connie Seale are adding a master bedroom, three-car garage and bath at 1428 Drexel Place for $200,000. Burt R. Ford Enterprises Inc., of Frankston, is doing the work.

Glenn A. Smith Dev. LLC is constructing a 2,770-square-foot home at 5624 Hollytree Drive for $185,000.

Lary and Kat Stokes are remodeling a kitchen and bathroom at 507 Sherry Lane for $150,000. The Scates Group is the contractor.

Smith County Habitat for Humanity is building a 1,695-square-foot house at 1600 N. Spring Ave. for $75,000.

Backyard Connection LLC is building a $60,000 pool at 2221 Mulberry Grove.

Darrell Briggs is constructing a $50,000, 4,580-square-foot cabana at 2111 Dueling Oaks Drive. Colley Construction is the contractor.

Ray Martinez is building a $36,000 pool at 7631 Lakeside Lane. Flamingo Bay Pools is the contractor.

Kent and Stephanie Boozer filed for approval for construction at Lake Tyler to remodel a boathouse by adding a kitchen and bathroom, at 13433 Peninsula in Whitehouse. Mike Brattlof is the contractor.

John and Glenda Ryan are replacing windows, doors and siding; tearing down and rebuilding a carport attached to the garage; and building a new deck at 8160 Greer Drive for $20,000.

Julio Cesar Garcia is adding two bedrooms and a bathroom at 104 E. Franklin for $14,000.

Rosemary Gardner is constructing a storage building at 1207 Camellia St. for $6,586.

Arlenne and Larry Murph are adding two skylights and re-supporting a sagging roof at 1327 LuAnn Lane for $6,000. Woodland Builders Inc. is the contractor.

Susan and Dale Alberts are building garden storage building at 2719 Marilyn Drive for $3,280.

Driveway permits were filed by Quality Construction for 1661, 1723 and 1729 Elk River Road; Martin Martinez for 2065 Equestrian Lane; and Montes Concrete for 2123 WSW Loop 323.

There also were 11 HVAC permits, one temporary gas permit, three duct testing reports, two water heater inspections and four applications for residential temporary electrical service filed.
