A man released from jail Thursday is wanted in connection with a residential burglary less than six hours later.
According to information from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, detectives are requesting help finding Aaron Bowers, 41, of Tyler, who was released from Smith County Jail about 7:05 p.m. Thursday after serving time on a criminal trespassing charge.
A news release from the sheriff’s office indicates a 911 call was placed about 1:48 a.m. Friday regarding a burglary of a mobile home in the 12800 block of Texas Highway 31 West.
“Patrol deputies responded to the call and took the victim’s statement, and the homeowner said she returned home to find the suspect fleeing her residence with various household items and running into the woods behind her home,” the news release stated.
Sheriff’s officials said the homeowner said she recognized Bowers, as he has frequently been in the neighborhood due to having relatives living nearby.
