The Lindale Veterans Memorial is officially complete, and its dedication is scheduled for Sept. 9 in downtown Lindale.
The 30-foot circular monument features a 5-by-6-foot granite monument in its center, according to promotional materials from the Lindale American Legion Post 15.
The center monument is inscribed, “This monument is dedicated in honor of the men and women, past and present, who preserve our liberty and freedom by serving in the armed and maritime forces of the Untied States of America.”
The American, Texas and POW/MIA flags fly at the back of the monument and benches serve as a place for prayer and reflection, the according to the American legion.
The monument sits behind the Lindale Community Library at the intersection of East Valley and North Commerce Streets, according to a news release.
The dedication will be held at noon on Sept. 9. John Furlow, retired major general, will be the keynote speaker.
