The Austin Bank branch at Loop 323 and Shaw Street in Tyler, near the Hollywood Theaters, was robbed at gunpoint today at 10:11 a.m.
Police said three men entered the bank and held the employees at gun point. The suspects were African-American, wearing dark clothing, covering over their faces, believed to be in their 30's, and medium to stocky build. They left the scene in a gold vehicle with an undetermined amount of cash.
Gregg County Sheriff Maxey Cerliano told the Tyler Morning Telegraph last night that the description of the men who robbed an Austin Bank Monday night near Longview was black males who were armed with "long guns" (such as rifles), and they also left the scene in a gold vehicle.
The vehicle that left the scene of this morning's robbery was also described as missing a hubcap, and police have found an abandoned car matching the description less than a mile from the scene of the robbery at the Community Church of God in Christ, located at Britton Avenue and Carden Lane in Tyler.
The suspects are believed to have switched into a dark gray Nissan Altima and a dark red Dodge Stratus, police said.
