GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Gregg County authorities are still investigating a bank robbery that occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Monday.
Officials tell CBS 19 the robbery happened at the Austin Bank located on Hwy. 259 off Tryon Rd.
Gregg County Sheriff's Lieutenant Kirk Haddix says that at 4:06 p.m., three men pulled up to the Austin bank branch in the Judson community.
Two of the men walked into the bank, one stood at the door, the other carried a long-barreled shotgun, twice telling bank clerks, "Give me the money," Haddix says. A third man waited in the car, described as a gold-colored, newer model chevy four-door sedan.
"They were here a total of 13 seconds," Haddix says.
The suspects were last seen heading south on Airline Road in the direction of Longview High School.
A witness tried following the suspects, but Haddix says the witness lost the vehicle about a mile away on Henderson Lane.
Haddix says the two suspects who walked into the bank are both black men, one wearing clothing over his face and body, the other wearing a hoodie and sunglasses.
